New Delhi: BJP has blamed Mayawati lead UP government of harassing party's Pilibhit candidate Varun Gandhi, who was booked under National Security Act.

BJP spokesman Balbir Punj blamed the government saying, ‘The state government harassed Varun when he was in Etah jail for 20 days.'

Varun Gandhi was released from Etah Jail on Thursday after the Supreme Court granted him a bail for two weeks on parole.

Varun Gandhi has been granted the permission to file his nominations and campaign for the party. Gandhi will file his nominations from Pilibhit parliamentary seat on April 21.
