LUCKNOW: Indian Justice Party (IJP) has flayed the statement of BSP state president, Swami Prasad Maurya saying that the state government would not order a CBI inquiry into the alleged murder of IJP candidate from Jaunpur, Bahadur Sonkar.
Terming the statement as dictatorial, state general secretary of IJP, Israr Siddiqui said that this proved that democracy had no place in BSP.
He said that IJP workers would hold demonstrations and stage sit-ins all over the state to press the government to order a CBI inquiry into the murder of Sonkar which is being denied by the ruling BSP government.
Siddiqui said that the family members of Sonkar, who were being threatened by Jaunpur district administration had gone to meet chief minister Mayawati in Lucknow but they were not allowed to meet her.
"It is regrettable that `Dalit ki beti' (daughter of a Dalit) could not spare time to hear the sorrows of the members of Sonkar's family, who himself belonged to the Dalit community," alleged the IJP leader.
