MANGALORE: The state committee of the CPM has condemned atrocities on dalits by BJP workers, belonging to the upper caste, during the firts phase of voting in Hunasavadi village of Madhugiri taluk in Tumkur district on April 23.
CPM state secretariat member Maruthi Manpade told reporters here on Monday that the state government should nab the culprits and provide protection and compensation for the affected families.
Citing several instances, he said incidents related to atrocities on dalits have increased after the BJP came to power in the state.
In several instances. the police did not register complaints against the accused as they belonged to the BJP. BJP state president D V Sadananda Gowda and DK parliamentary constituency candidate Nalin Kumar Kateel dining with a dalit family was a gimmick, he claimed.
