The Congress party on Thursday released a list of 25 candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The list was released for the states of Assam, Madhya Pradesh, Nagaland and the Union Territory of Chandigarh at the party headquarters in New Delhi.
Prominent names in the list include, Santosh Mohan Dev from Silchar in Assam, union ministers Kamal Nath from Chhindwara and Jyotiraditya Scindia from Guna in Madhya Pradesh.
The list also includes names of Pawan Kumar Bansal (Minister of State, Finance) from the Union Territory of Chandigarh, B K Handique (Minister of State, Chemical and Fertilizer) from Jorhat in Assam. Kantilal Bhuria (Minister of State, Agriculture) will contest from the reserved constituency of Ratlam in Madhya Pradesh.
Other prominent candidates include, MK Subba from Tezpur, P S Ghatwar from Dibrugarh in Assam and Ashok Singh from Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh.
Of the 25 seats for which candidates were declared, 12 are from Madhya Pradesh, 11 from Assam and one each from Chandigarh and Nagaland.
