Bangalore, May 1 : After 45 days of hectic campaigning across the state, political leaders are planning a well-deserved rest. However, a few leaders will campaign in other states.
Chief minister BS Yeddyurappa will not be receiving visitors on Friday, as he prefers to relax at his Dollars Colony residence here, his close aide Swamy confided.
JD-S president and former chief minister HD Kumaraswamy will relax for a few days. "My throat has been affected by the continuous speeches I have been delivering. I have decided to rest for a few days," he said. His father and JD-S supremo, HD Deve Gowda, will relax in Bangalore.
RV Deshpande, Congress party chief in the state, is busy packing his bags. "The Congress is a national party and the question of rest does not arise. I am going to campaign in Jammu and Kashmir. Coming back to power is our aim," he said.
The Congress candidate from Mandya, MH Ambareesh, plans to relax for a while.
Bangalore South BJP candidate Ananthkumar, who campaigned in other constituencies in the state, is active in Delhi. Another candidate from the same constituency, Captain GR Gopinath, took a week's off and is now busy preparing for the May 18 launch of his next project, Deccan Cargos.
The young Congress candidate from Bangalore South, Krishna Byre Gowda, will soon fly to Rajasthan to campaign for Jitendra Singh in Halvar Lok Sabha constituency.
Congress working president DK Shivkumar will be campaigning in Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan and Haryana.
Congress' HT Sangliana, who contested from Bangalore Central, is busy replying to pending e-mails. "He's not taking rest. He's a strong man," his secretary Anand said
