People should get rid of ‘weak’ UPA: Modi

Labels:
Narendra ModiRaigarh (Chhattisgarh), Apr 9- Terming the UPA government as “weak”, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today asked people not to vote for the coalition partners in the coming Lok Sabha polls.

“With development, security is equally important for the country. But despite the Supreme Court order, Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru has not been hanged yet. The government failed on the security front and people should not bring such weak coalition to power again,” Modi said, while addressing an election meeting at Ramlila Maidan here.
The UPA government has been indifferent to the needs of the farmers and deprived sections of the country, he alleged, adding the people should elect a “strong” government at the Centre under the leadership of BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate L K Advani.

Accusing the Congress of indulging in vote-bank politics, he said the Centre could not guarantee the common man a secure environment and sought to know from the Manmohan Singh dispensation that what steps it took after the 26/11 Mumbai carnage.

Claiming that terrorists and naxalites have a free run in the country, the firebrand leader said the Congress-led government, which repealed POTA, was not making any stringent law to deal with the crisis.
