Budhni (MP), Mar 24 : Senior BJP leader and party candidate from Vidisha seat Sushma Swaraj on Tuesday took a dig at Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi for raising the issue of Kalavati in Lok Sabha, saying it reflected that he was not aware of the real picture at the village level.
She was referring to Mr. Rahul's visit to Kalavati's house in Jalka village in Maharashtra's Vidarbha region and the narration of the same by him in the Lok Sabha. "Rahul Baba should know that by spending just a night at the dalit's residence, he won't be able to understand the real problems being faced by the rural people," Ms. Swaraj said.
She was addressing a meeting on the second day of the four-day-long Nyay Yatra being taken out to highlight the alleged discrimination by the Centre against the state on the issue of less allocation of coal, power, foodgrain and Indira Awas Kutir.
"To justify the cause of nuclear power, Mr. Rahul raised the issue of Kalavati in the House on the ground that it will lighten her hutment," she said, adding that in Madhya Pradesh the Centre can light the house of large number of women just by allocating coal and power due to the state.
Ms. Swaraj alleged that the ongoing power crisis in Madhya Pradesh was due to the discrimination by the Centre in the allocation of coal and power to the state.
