Kheroni (Assam), Mar 25 : Senior BJP leader L K Advani on Wednesday said that the NDA, if voted to power, would take "drastic action" against foreign militants active in the country.
Addressing his first election rally in Assam, Advani, the BJP's prime ministerial candidate, said foreign militants help local militant organisations in carrying out subversive activity in the country.
"The NDA's top priority would be to resolve the problem of militancy in the Northeast by holding discussion with local militant outfits," Advani told the rally held at Kheroni in Karbi Anglong district. On the issue of illegal infiltration from Bangladesh, he said that the anti-foreigners movement by the All Assam Students' Union was the biggest such movement in the country, but due to the Congress' attitude towards illegal infiltrators, the problem has magnified.
"The Congress has always given illegal foreigners protection to exploit them for vote-bank politics," he alleged
