Guwahati, Sept 9 (PTI) BJP will make the vexed Bangladeshi influx issue its principal poll plank in the next year's assembly polls in Assam, party General Secretary Varun Gandhi said here today.
But it would be 'unfair' to call the party communal for raising the influx issue, he told a party rally here.
He said a selective approach would be adopted and views of party workers at the grassroots would be taken before giving party tickets for polls, Gandhi, who is also BJP's election observer for Assam said.
Gandhi also asked his party workers to work in the greater interest of the public irrespective of any political interest. In the morning he visited the famous Kamakhya Temple atop Nilachal hill here.
