Guwahati, May 7 (PTI) The BJP today demanded dismissal of O Ibobi Singh government in Manipur and imposition of emergency claiming the situation in the state is deteriorating in the wake of proposed visit of NSCN (IM) leader T Muivah.
"The situation has gone from bad to worse and the constitutional machinery has broken down because of the failure of the government which should be dismissed and emergency imposed," the party's North East's organising secretary V Chandrasekhar told reporters here.
Stating that there was "nothing wrong" on the part of Muivah to visit his native village in Manipur, he said the "BJP will not accept the NCSN (IM) demand for greater Nagaland".
Charging Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh with having links with underground outfits, Chandrasekhar who recently visited Manipur, claimed that 20 per cent money of every development project was siphoned off to the ultras for purchase of arms.
