Tackling terrorism is NDA's priority, says Rajnath

Mangaldoi/Dudhnoi (Assam), Apr 19 : If the NDA comes to power its priority would be curbing terrorism and it would exert pressure on Pakistan and Bangladesh to control the menace at their soil, BJP president Rajnath Singh said on Saturday.

"Pakistan and Bangladesh will have to control terrorism and if they do not have adequate forces to tackle the problem, then they can take forces from India," Mr. Singh told two rallies in Lower Assam's Mangaldoi and Dudhnoi towns.

"In the north-east, terrorism flourished due to large-scale infiltration from Bangladesh and the neighbouring country will have to take the responsibility to stop it," he said.

On black money stashed in Swiss banks, he said it would be brought back to the country through diplomatic pressure."We will put diplomatic pressure and ensure that black money is back in the country within 100 days of NDA rule and distributed among the common people," Mr. Singh added.

Mr. Singh blamed the UPA government for price rise and claimed that during the NDA rule, which witnessed the Kargil war, there was no price rise.

In Assam, the BJP-AGP alliance would continue till the next Assembly elections in 2011 and if won the Chief Minister would be from the regional party, Mr. Singh said.
