Bangalore, Apr 11 - Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today said India should have given a “fitting reply” to Pakistan after Mumbai terror attacks, saying “response to terrorism should be given in the language of terrorism”.“Response to terrorism should be given in the language of terrorism. Pakistan should be made to understand in Pakistani language”, Modi said at an election rally here as he ridiculed the UPA government for “pleading” for US intervention to rein in Islamabad after the November attacks.
“Pakistan carried out the attack and they (UPA government) went to America. It is shocking,” he said.“India’s Home Minister pleaded on the streets of Washington ’save us, save us, do something (after the Mumbai attacks)”, he said, and added “Congress people, drown yourselves”.
Modi also made a frontal attack on Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and strongly supported BJP leader L K Advani’s statement that he was “the weakest Prime Minister”.
Modi said Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan had openly stated that Bangladeshis who infiltrated into India should be given Indian citizenship and voting rights but the Prime Minister remained mum. “Dr. Manmohan Singh, do you want to give Indian citizenship to Bangladeshis (who infiltrated into India)?” Modi said. “If you don’t want, why did you not remove him (Paswan) from ministership? Why did you not seek an explanation from him?” Modi said.
Noting that Singh was elected to Rajya Sabha from Assam, Modi said the north-eastern state faced the grave problem of Bangladeshi infiltrators.
He said there was not much difference between Gujarat and Assam in terms of the fact that while Bangladesh is Assam’s neighbour, it’s Pakistan in the case of Gujarat.“There is difficulty in Assam because of Bangladesh infiltrators. But there is a government in Gujarat….Because of me, the whole of Pakistan is in difficulty”, he remarked.
