At a press meet here, he said even senior-most leaders like Mallikarjun Kharge are being humiliated by the party high command. He said there was no need for the party to force Kharge into elections when he was the leader of opposition. "With chances of Kharge's victory being minuscule, he will be neither here nor there," he said.
He said the Congress does not respect communities or social groups. The party has history of humiliating leaders and Kharge is the latest victim, he said pointing to how ailing Veerendra Patil, who had given a victory to the party in the 1989 elections, was removed.
"Patil's removal was announced from airport by Rajiv Gandhi. This is how the party treats the big leaders. My fault was I pointed out the blunders committed by the central party leaders in the assembly elections," he said.
He said the Congress has hatched a conspiracy to eliminate B Rachiah's family members from politics and that is why they have fielded Dhruvanarayan against A R Krishnamurthy. He said when Dhruvanarayan is a legislator where is the need to field him.
The Congress high command has no qualms in providing tickets to H T Sangliana and Margaret Alva, who have no base in their constituencies, but it forgets the promise made to Shivanna, he said.
