Chitradurga, Apr 9 : BJP Prime Ministerial candidate Sri L K Advani promised his government would strive to implement e-governance from Central government to Panchayat level. Addressing a massive election rally at Chitradurga Lok Sabha constituency he said “Computer and internet are the biggest inventions of the 21st century. This is the computer age and it is our desire to make the entire population of this country computer literate. Through information and computer pipeline BJP would ensure that there is no leakage in the funds allocated for the development of the country”.
Advani stated that if voted to power NDA would provide good governance, security, development, and security of life and security of livelihood to the people. “Our party believes in the future of the country and we will work towards making 21st century an Indian century”, he stated.
Recalling the only difference he noticed after 2004 and now, Advani pointed out earlier people used to call BJP a North Indian party. But we no longer remain a North Indian party ever since BJP formed government in Karnataka in 2008 under the under the able leadership of Yeddyurappa. Explaining his party’s desire to introduce a national identity card Sri Advani said BJP wants every citizen to have an all purpose identity card which will be helpful to all citizens all the time for all purposes. He further added that today there is terrorism because lots of people who come from across border and are able to settle anywhere in the country and the national identity card will help solve the problem of illegal migration.


Criticizing the UPA’s economic policies Sri Advani said, “Though government is saying there is economic improvement in reality farmers are committing suicide in large numbers especially in states ruled by the UPA. The BJP therefore has given priority to two sectors in its recently released Manifesto, namely agriculture and farmers and security and armed forces”. He further added, “No farmer will commit suicide during our rule due to the burden of loan”.
Advani remarked that injustice has been done to the armed forces for years and BJP would implement the long pending demand of one-rank-one-pension scheme if voted to power to set right this injustice done to them. He called upon the people to elect BJP Chitradurga candidate Janardhana Swamy saying as a Computer Engineer Swamy would help the government implement its policy of e-governance of the country. “Country’s fortunes are changing. People can participate in this change by voting for Sri Janardhana Swamy in Chitradurga and the BJP in general”, he remarked.
Advani addressed the gathering in Hindi and BJP leader D S Shankarmurthy translated his speech to Kannada.
Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa, Ministers Karunakar Reddy, Sriramulu, Venkataramanappa, Sudhakar and several MLAs and local leaders were present on the dais.
Former MLA Thippa Reddy and former Minister Ashwath Reddy joined the BJP in the same meeting.
'Only in UPA Ruled States Farmers Committing Suicide ' - Advani in Belgaum
“Only in UPA ruled states farmers are committing suicide in large numbers. But such incidents of suicide are not found in BJP ruled states in the country”, said BJP Prime Ministerial candidate L K Advani.
Addressing a massive election rally in support of BJP’s Belguam and Chikkodi candidates in Belgaum he said UPA failed to give an able and effective government to the country during its rule.
During the NDA rule under the able leadership of A B Vajpayee the country witnessed all-round progress. It is sad that Vajpayee is not with us today due to his ill health. He further added that country can prosper only when poverty is eradicated and farmer’s condition is improved. BJP will work hard to ensure total development and overall welfare of its people. By coming to power in Karnataka BJP has come out of the tag of being only a North Indian party, he stated.


Criticizing the Congrss and UP government for invoking NSA on Varun Gandhi terming it as a political conspiracy Advani said it is a shame that the government is dillydallying to hang Afzal Guru who was responsible for attack on Parliament.
He called upon the people to vote for the BJP to ensure the development, safety and security of the country.
