New Delhi, Mar 20 : Supporters of Parvesh Verma, son of former Delhi chief minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Saheb Singh Verma, on Friday gheraoed the residence of L K Advani protesting the party's decision not to field their leader in the Lok Sabha polls.
Supporters of Parvesh took the security personnel of the Opposition Leader to surprise when they gathered in hundreds outside his house.
The supporters initially assembled at Late Saheb Singh Verma's residence in Tughlaq Lane before marching towards Advani's Prithviraj Road residence.
Parvesh was hoping to contest as BJP candidate from Outer Delhi seat, which was represented by his father.
But, Parvesh's name did not figure in the candidate list released by the BJP on Thursday.
"Supporters of my late father Saheb Singh Verma are hurt and they have gathered to convey their sentiments," Pravesh said.
Meanwhile, security at the BJP headquarters on Ashoka Road was strengthened by deploying CRPF personnel.
Besides Delhi Police personnel, around 20 CRPF personnel were deployed near the BJP office after party supporters staged a protest outside Advani's residence.
