With the Lok Sabha election dates announced, when all the political parties have pulled up their socks, the online networking community is busy discussing their favourite party and leaders.

The members of Lok Sabha election-2009 — an Orkut community — have conducted a poll survey on ‘Which party will make it in the Lok Sabha elections 2009?’. At least 87 per cent voted for UPA, while 11 per cent for the NDA and the remaining for the Third Front.

In another poll survey on ‘Who will our next PM be’, which was started by Raj of ‘Indian Politics’ community, Lal Krishna Advani tops with 84 per cent, while Sonia Gandhi gets 4 per cent and the remaining is shared by various political leaders.

The community ‘BJP Supporters group’ has members exceeding 21,000 across the globe. They have even predicted that in Karnataka, of 28, BJP will get at least 20 seats. There is also a ‘Appeal: Support L K Advani as next PM’ community started by Barabanki from Uttar Pradesh.

While the Congress supporters have different communities in the name of Indira gandhi, Sonia Gandi, Priyanka Gandhi fan club, Youth Congress and NSUI. In the ‘Youth Congress’ community, 79 per cent of the members say that Congress will come to power and Rahul Gandhi will be the next PM candidate.

According to Harish of the same community, Rahul Gandhi is befitting for the PM’s post as he can see the same fire in him as his father Rajiv Gandhi. He says Rahul is young, dynamic and passionate about his work.

Mayawati supporters have formed communities like 'Mayawati- next PM’, 'Mayawati fans association’ to extend their support. There is also a discussion on ‘S M Krishna Vs Ananth Kumar’, ‘started by Kartik from Bangalore, a member of ‘Indian Politics’.

In a forum, many people have even discussed about delimitations which might change the results of any party. In one of the discussion forums in the community ‘Indian Politics’, members are discussing about Congress using ‘Jai Ho’ of Slumdog Millionaire as their party song. Some of them expressed their displeasure while some said it was a `smart move’!
