Kottayam, March 18 : Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati would inaugurate its election campaign rally at Thiruvananthapuram on March 21.
Addressing a press conference here today, BSP National General Secretary Suresh Mane said in the context of recent developments with regard to Third Front BSPs decision to go alone in the election throughout the country was of significance. BSP would field candidates in all Parliamentary seats in Kerala, he added.
The party had already announced the list of 13 candidates, including Neelalohitha Dasan Nadar from Thiruvananthapuram, K K Nair from Pathanamthitta and J Sudhakaran from Attingal, he said, adding the remaining seven candidates would be announced on March 18 at Calicut.
People were unhappy with the programmes and policies of the LDF and UDF, he claimed, and said BSP was an alternative to UDF and LDF.
The party would receive support from the Dalits, Dalit Christians and Muslims in the state, he claimed. BSP had no nexus with industrialists and corporate houses and was not taking funds from them. Hence, it was free to implement policies and programmes for the welfare of people, he added.
