New Delhi, Mar 17 : In Bihar District Magistrate Arun Prasad and SP Pankanj Darad were transferred after the Election Commission found them guilty of violating the model code of conduct. These officers flouted the Commission directive of not allowing any public meeting on school premises The commission also directed the state government to suspend Sadar SDO D. arbhanga. The EC has asked the state government not to entrust them any election related work.
The Election Commission had received a complain that the public meeting of the Union Minister of State for Home Shakeel Ahmad was held at Khirma High School at Keoti in Darbhanga on 14th March.
This meeting had caused inconvenience to many matriculation examinees who had gone to appear for practical examination at the School.
The School management had also changed the timings of the practical test in view of the meeting, which was protested by the examinees.
Upon inquiry the EC found that the public meeting was permitted in violation of the election code of conduct.
