Akhil Bharatiya Mahila Congress Committee General Secretary and state in-charge Nalini Chandel told mediapersons here yesterday that Ms Gandhi favoured maximum participation of women in politics.Ms Chandel, who reached here to take part in Chhattisgarh Mahila Congress Committee's executive meeting, expressed hope that the Party would provide better repsentation to women in ensuing the Lok Sabha polls.
A demand was being made to provide five out of 11 Lok Sabha seats in the State to women.
''Congress-led United Progressive Alliance government has taken several historical decisions for the betterment of farmers, unemployed, women and other sections of society,'' she said.
Ms Chandel said a team of 10 women would be deployed at every booth to provide information about the Centre's policies and achievements to the women voters.
''Information about the Centre's policies and schemes will be disseminated to every house in villages,'' she added.
