Itanagar, Jan 10 : A SMS, circulated among high ranking officials and political leaders, alleging Lok Sabha member Kiren Rijiju having links with Chief Minister Dorjee Khandu, in getting a power project in his name has irked the BJP parliamentarian.
"It is a desperate attempt to assassinate my character by a few persons to get political mileage," Rijiju commented while talking to media here yesterday.
He said, he was not bothered and felt that it was not an issue to negate but simply an attempt to inflict injuries to his image by some frustrated people.
The SMS was written as "Sir, our Lok Sabha MP Mr Kiren Rijiju has got 130 mw power project at Nafra, West Kameng district. The firm name is M/S KSK Debing project. Many Congress MLAs have not got such a project. Today one mega watt value is 12 to 15 lakh, jago jago. Not even a dust they could point towards me as my integrity is beyond anybody’s imagination," he commented and added that they were trying to establish his links with Khandu which was unfortunate.
Referring to the project he disclosed that the Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) for the project was signed between the state government and the firm during January 25, 2007 when Gegong Apang was the Chief Minister.
Khandu became Chief Minister on April 2007, after three months of signing the MoA, and his involvement in awarding the project to me is ridiculous, Rijiju said and warned of action if such dirty politics continue. (Agencies)
