Imphal, Jan 17 : The name of former Manipur Chief minister W Nipamacha Singh has been recommended by the BJP as a candidate for the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls, party sources said on Friday.

The BJP Manipur unit at its meeting in Imphal on Thursday recommended the name of Singh to the BJP National Election Committee for contesting the parliamentary elections from the inner Manipur parliamentary constituency.

The name of candidate for the outer Manipur parliamentary constituency was yet to be finalised.

Manipur has two parliamentary seats, Inner Manipur valley districts) and outer Manipur (hill districts).
